Cataract Surgery And General Eye Care

What is Cataract?

Clouding (Opacification) of the natural lens, which prevents light rays from reaching the retina.
Early on, a change in glass power may help.
Later on, it progressively affects the vision, and finally, only the perception of light remains.

What are The Symptoms of Cataract?

Painless, gradually progressive blurring of vision.
Double vision or seeing multiple images.
Trouble with seeing in poor light conditions and sometimes in excessive sunlight.
Becoming sensitive to glare, making night driving difficult.
Difficulty in distance vision and in reading.
Diabetes & High Blood pressure can lead to an early onset of cataract

Surgical Options

SICS (Small Incision Cataract Surgery:)
This surgery is performed manually through 5-6 mm incision for removal of cataract & an Intra ocular Lens (IOL) is implanted in its place.

Phaco (Phaco Emulsification):

This is universally accepted standard for cataract surgery, where ultrasound energy is used to emulsify the cataract in to microscopic fragments that are aspirated out of the eye & an Intra Ocular Lens (IOL) is implanted in its place.

We also provide following services:

General eye checkup
Near & Distant vision test
Color vision test
Appropriate recommendation of eye glass

1. Zeiss IOL Master

The IOL Master is a scanning device that is used to determine the power of an intraocular lens implant prior to cataract surgery. This state-of-the-art laser system evaluates the length of the eye, surface curvature and anterior chamber depth with great accuracy.

Extremely useful and advanced technique required for premium IOLs and routine cataract surgery patients.

Patient satisfaction increases due to spectacle independence. Patient can really enjoy the spectacle free vision due to multifocal, toric and variety of other IOLs because of accuracy achieved by the help of this machine.

Gold standard all over the world for cataract surgery evaluation.

2. Posterior Capsulotomy (YAG Laser)

A posterior capsulotomy is a  laser procedure to eliminate the cloudiness that occasionally interferes with a patient’s vision after cataract surgery. In modern cataract surgery, the cataract is removed, but a thin membrane that held the cataract is left in place to hold the implanted artificial lens. However, the posterior or back portion of the capsule can become cloudy over time. This can be resolved with a quick in-office laser procedure. Our Doctors   will use a YAG laser to create an opening in the center of the cloudy capsule. The opening allows clear passage of the light rays and eliminates the cloudiness that was interfering with your vision.

Laser Iridotomy

Laser iridotomy is a treatment for narrow-angle glaucoma. In laser iridotomy, a small hole is placed in the iris to create a hole for fluid to drain from the back of the eye to the front of the eye. The purpose of an iridotomy is to preserve vision, not to improve it.

Your treatment will be performed in a specially equipped laser room.

3. A Scan Biometry

The A-scan provides data on the length of the eye, which is a major determinant in common sight disorders.

4. Auto-Refractor with Keratometer

5. Vaccume Autoclave

6. Moller Wedal Microscope

7. OS3 Phaco Machine from Oertli
